A multipurpose plant (also known as multiproduct plant) is a unit designed to produce a wide variety of chemical specialties. IIT multipurpose plants have been perfected in order to manufacture additives for detergents, softeners and emulsifiers.
Our multiproduct plants can be configured in order to carry out reactions such as alkylation, condensation, carboxylation, esterification, amidation and quaternization. The possible products are betaines, alkanolamides, solfosuccinates, imidazolines, esterquats and many others.
The basic design of a multipurpose plant usually includes:
a batch reactor suitable to work under pressure and under vacuum, heated and cooled,
the accessory equipment for heating, vapors condensation and vacuum generation,
a batch atmospheric reactor suitable for moderate heating and for cooling,
the equipment for the neutralization of the inerts to be vented to the atmosphere,
the pumps for reagents loading and products transfer,
the instrumentation for control of loading quantities, temperatures, pressures, levels etc.,
